1. Information We Collect
BirdieBuddie collects specific information to provide our premium golf scorecard experience:
- Location Data (GPS): We request background and foreground location access to track your position on the golf course, measure distances to the pin, and calculate shot lengths.
- Camera Access: We request access to your camera only when you choose to take or upload a profile picture. This image is stored securely and is only visible to you and your friends within the app.
- Account Information: We collect your email address, first name, and last name during signup via Supabase Authentication.
- Usage & Analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage data to improve our application.
- Subscription Data: We utilize RevenueCat to securely manage your premium subscription entitlements. We do not directly process or store your credit card information.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is strictly used to facilitate the core functions of BirdieBuddie:
- To display accurate GPS distances during active matches.
- To sync live scores with your friends and maintain leaderboards.
- To verify your premium subscription status.
3. Data Deletion & Your Rights
You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
How to permanently delete your account directly inside the app:
- Open the BirdieBuddie mobile app.
- Navigate to the Settings screen from your Profile.
- Tap the red Delete Account link at the bottom of the screen.
- Type DELETE to confirm the permanent and irrevocable removal of your data.
Upon confirmation, your personal information, match history, and friendships will be immediately purged from our secure database system.
